Cinema Beans: Moonrise Kingdom

Why the hell not? Would people stop complaining about Wes Anderson’s movies being so Wes-Anderson-y if there weren’t eye-popping colors at every turn? Probably not, but I’d love for Anderson to just try it once so people will at least find creative ways of complaining about his compositions.

If Playing for Keeps were made in the '50s and starred Some Named Actor from the '50s and Doris Day, people would still talk about it and think it was charming and nice. Instead, it got a 2% on Rotten Tomatoes. It just reminded me of older movies? Which is my shallow reason for saying it should have been shot in b&w.
